Eastcote House Gardens Vote Pride of Place
Hillingdon Council have made changes to the Streets Ahead initiative, it is now called Pride of Place. 4 Wards within Hillingdon are looked at in turn, and residents have the opportunity to put forward projects for funding. The Friends of Eastcote House Gardens have asked for replacement seating, some of the seats do not comply with new regulations, and for a Notice Board, so as to be able give more information about the events at EHG and horticultural information as well. These items are part of the Restoration Project. We need your help to be successful in our efforts to obtain the seats and notice board, please click on the link below and vote for Eastcote House Gardens. The group with the highest votes are granted the funding for the project. Please ask you family, friends and colleagues to vote for Eastcote House Gardens. Link to Hillingdon Council web site for Pride of Place
People will also be able to vote via their libraries from next week. As both Eastcote and Northwood Hills Libraries are both closed for renovation, the nearest libraires are Manor Farm Ruislip and Ruislip Manor.

Reel Estates were delighted to sponsor the annual Wealdstone Youth 6 aside Football Tournament held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May at the Grosvenor Vale pitches. As always this event is blessed with good weather and there was a fantastic turnout with 157 teams entered into the competition in total. Yes I did say 157 teams entered, these ranged from under 7’s to under 13’s. There were 20 teams that won prizes over the weekend and the players will have been aged between 9 to 13 years. Ages 7 and 8 are non competitive! It has to be said that a lot of organizing goes into this event and it is a credit to Mr. Gary Howes the event organizer. A lovely weekend to enjoy some great football, a bbq and a cheeky beer in the sunshine! To see images from the day visit this link

Friends of Eastcote House Gardens Celebration and Appeal
success

The Launch of the Appeal to restore Eastcote House Gardens, was very successful, the sun shone, 32 descendants of the Hawtrey Family re-discovered the magic of EHG, and many many residents came and supported the Gardens. The biggest thanks go to those who donated plants, cakes, the refreshments, and gave their time to organize and run the day. Thanks also to our local shopkeepers Forget Me Not, who sponsored the Best Dressed Teddy Competition and Young's Newsagents who sponsored advertising and the soft drinks. The total raised so far is £1301.24. The Mayor of Hillingdon planted a commemorative bush to celebrate the Royal Wedding of William and Kate and to draw attention to the Eastcote House Gardens appeal to raise money to restore the Coach House and carry out more work. A selection of images from the day are available here

Business Biscotti Eastcote report

Thursday 26th May saw the third Business Biscotti Eastcote networking event at Basepoint Eastcote. The four local Business Biscotti ambassadors; Angela from Basepoint, Peter from Reel Estates and Geoff and David from the Eastcote Local website team, welcomed some 20 businesses people, who had the opportunity to network together in an excellent environment in the Basepoint building in Field End Road. The whole point of Biscotti networking is to provide the right venue without the quite heavy costs, early starts and pressure of bringing referrals that some other networking methods entail. The general consensus of those attending was that it was a very useful meeting with a number of potential businesses leads generated. Images from the meeting are on our special Biscotti page.
