Ruislip Lido Railway
26 Apr 2025
Ruislip Lido Railway
The pleasant journey takes you around the lake at Ruislip Lido, with the line weaving its way through the ancient Ruislip Woods. There are two main stations on the line where passengers can start and finish their journey. Woody Bay station is beside the beach & children’s splash pad, and it is the oldest terminus on the line. The other station is Willow Lawn station, located next to the Turntable Tea Room and car park. It is also just a short walk away from the ‘Waters Edge’ pub & carvery. At Willow Lawn station, passengers can observe the locomotive being turned on the turntable, before the train heads back to Woody Bay.
All our trains are wheelchair, pushchair and buggy friendly. The service is normally operated by one of our large diesel locomotives. On weekends and Bank Holidays, our steam locomotive 'Mad Bess', which is a half scale version of the Ffestiniog Railway locomotive 'Blanche', may pull the train.

Pinner Rotary - St George’s Day Celebrations
St George is the Patron Saint of England and is commemorated on St George’s Day, 23rd April. Pinner Rotary organise an annual festival celebrating St George, held in Pinner High Street on a Sunday in April close to St George's Day.
This year our St George's Day celebrations will be on Sunday 27th April 2025 from 12 noon to 5pm
The picturesque High Street will be closed to traffic and filled with entertainment for everyone with performers, stalls and activities.
The entertainment will commence with bell ringing from the Parish Church followed by the Scout Parade to the War Memorial where they will renew their Promise. St George is also the Patron Saint of the Scout Movement.
Entertainment throughout the afternoon will include live music, a choir, morris dancing, Punch & Judy puppet show, face painting, children's rides, and many food and community stalls. The Wheelbarrow Race at 3pm - sign up to take part now!
The highlight of the celebrations is the Wheelbarrow Race, a unique Pinner event in which teams of two take it in turns to push their partner in a wheelbarrow, drink beer and race round the streets of Pinner. This starts at Little Common (just past the Police Station) and ends at Church Farm Green (opposite the Parish Church).
