Eastcote House Gardens Vote Pride of Place
Hillingdon Council have made changes to the Streets Ahead initiative, it is now called Pride of Place. 4 Wards within Hillingdon are looked at in turn, and residents have the opportunity to put forward projects for funding. The Friends of Eastcote House Gardens have asked for replacement seating, some of the seats do not comply with new regulations, and for a Notice Board, so as to be able give more information about the events at EHG and horticultural information as well. These items are part of the Restoration Project. We need your help to be successful in our efforts to obtain the seats and notice board, please click on the link below and vote for Eastcote House Gardens. The group with the highest votes are granted the funding for the project. Please ask you family, friends and colleagues to vote for Eastcote House Gardens. Link to Hillingdon Council web site for Pride of Place
People will also be able to vote via their libraries from next week. As both Eastcote and Northwood Hills Libraries are both closed for renovation, the nearest libraires are Manor Farm Ruislip and Ruislip Manor.

Reel Estates were delighted to sponsor the annual Wealdstone Youth 6 aside Football Tournament held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May at the Grosvenor Vale pitches. As always this event is blessed with good weather and there was a fantastic turnout with 157 teams entered into the competition in total. Yes I did say 157 teams entered, these ranged from under 7’s to under 13’s. There were 20 teams that won prizes over the weekend and the players will have been aged between 9 to 13 years. Ages 7 and 8 are non competitive! It has to be said that a lot of organizing goes into this event and it is a credit to Mr. Gary Howes the event organizer. A lovely weekend to enjoy some great football, a bbq and a cheeky beer in the sunshine! To see images from the day visit this link

Acorn Pregnancy Pack launches
Hillingdon mum launches new pregnancy information pack. From the end of June, pregnant women in the London Borough of Hillingdon will be able to collect, free of charge, a brand-new antenatal pack containing information and special offers. Called Acorn Pack Antenatal, the packs will be distributed through the borough’s network of Children’s Centres, beginning with Yiewsley Cornerstone from 27th June. The Acorn Pack concept of local, relevant and ethical information for mums-to-be is the creation of Jane Woodley, Hillingdon resident and mother of two young children. She began the company after realising that many women had regrets about their birth and early parenting experiences and felt very strongly that there needed to be accessible, realistic and supportive information available to all new parents. Jane is working in partnership with the London Borough of Hillingdon and Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust and has secured start-up funding from Public Health to bring Acorn Pack Antenatal to life. Acorn Pack carries advertising relevant to new families and is seeking responsible corporate partners to grow Acorn Pack Antenatal and to develop Acorn Pack Postnatal. One new mum who had her baby in April this year, and therefore just missed out on her Acorn Pack Antenatal, said, “Almost makes me want to have another… I may just have to stick a pillow up my jumper and waddle down to Yiewsley!” Acorn Pack Antenatal will be formally launched to health professionals on Wednesday 22nd June at Hillingdon’s third annual breastfeeding conference, held in the Council Chambers, Civic Centre, Uxbridge as part of the borough’s events for Breastfeeding Awareness Week.
