This has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.
 If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655

National news coverage has been given to the discovery of a rare Chinese vase in Pinner. It reached a record £43 million at auction. Perhaps now is the time to check out the loft rather than waiting for a spring clean.

Ray Puddifort Leader of Hillingdon Council addressed the Eastcote Residents Association on Tuesday last. He spoke on a wide range of subjects, but stressed the residents of Eastcote and Hillingdon were thier highest priority. He spoke of some recent councils achievements, but went on to say that their  were difficult times ahead with the prospect of drastic financial cuts over the next few years.
Thier then followed an intense question and answer session which covered a whole range of residents concerns.
Fears of the possibility of re developing the ground currently occupied by the Eastcote Community Assn, British Legion and the Eastcote Horticultural Society
appears to have been unfounded , as Counciller Puddifort described this was a recognised process that the council were obliged to carry out. He went on to say "I don't think the redevelopment will happen"

Housing developers Taylor Wimpy have applied to add 15 more properties to the existing RAF Eastcote site.
Local residents supported by MP Nick Hurd have demanded the planning application be withdrawn. The proposal would increase the number of properties from 385 to 340.
The concerns have been raised because of increased volumes of traffic and the abilty of the local road infrastructure to cope.

This year’s main choral event at Heathfield School, Pinner, is a collaboration with the John Lyon School and we will
be singing Handel’s mighty coronation anthem My Heart is Inditing.
Director of Music, Mr McElwaine, will be forming a Choir for anyone who is interested in singing with us. This is open to everybody, regardless of their singing experience and all music will be provided.

Rehearsals will be held at Heathfield School on Wednesday, 3rd November, 6pm-7pm in the Music Room and Wednesday, 17th November, 6pm-8pm with Heathfield’s Chamber Choir and the John Lyon School Choir.

The Eascote Residents Association    campaign succeeded in raising  funds to improve the quality of the lights and extending the area in which they are displayed.
There will be a large symbolic cheque presented to Eastcote commemorating the fund raising which has exceeded expectations.

Members of the Friends of Eastcote House Gardens were invited to City Hall Monday 25th October 2010 for the Award Ceremony for the 'It's Your Community' category of the London in Bloom Competition.
This is a special category for a Community Project, for which, three areas are judged. These are Community Participation, Environmental Responsibility and Gardening Achievement. There are five levels of achievement. 
The 'Friends' achieved the highest award, 'Level 5 Outstanding Achievement' for the Walled Garden project, and were presented with their Award by the Deputy Mayor of London Cllr. Richard Barnes.
Many groups and individuals have taken part in the Walled Garden restoration, it is truly a Community Project that has increased the pleasure of so many people, both working in and visiting the garden.
The project will continue, one is never finished in a garden!
