Create your niche, be your own brand
Being a performer or writer, although perhaps has less constraints than some other careers, has it's fair share of panic moments. This is where I would advise you to turn that stress energy in to something positive. Start thinking how you can take your unique skills and create a niche, as an artist you are your own brand.
Ask these questions to help you:
What makes you, well you?
What are your unique skills?
What are your goals?
Once you have answered these fundemental questions you can start carving out a way of emphasising the answers to them. The first thing I would suggest is set up your own blog. Whether you are a writer, singer, actress whatever you are, a website and blog is a way of promoting what you do, as well as being an amazing outlet to write thoughts about the industry.
Being yourself is sometimes daunting. Yes I know, in fact we all do, but to really promote your skills in the arts, I believe you have to let go of reservations and any form of self doubt and go for it. Especially if you are an arts graduate, finding who you are, out of a bubble of education is daunting, as well as exciting. The world is your oyster, so keep that in the forefront of your mind.
Letting the world know you have a gift should be a joy never forget that, by sharing is caring and promotimg yourself in the best light possible will come naturally. Everyone is different, so create your own path, yours and yours alone. You are unique, so draw upon that. Focus on emphasising your strengths in your CV and social media.
Finally be happy, that's the best way to suceed at anything, a positive attitude.
