Archaeology in Eastcote House Gardens
25 Jun – 10 Jul 2016
Our third annual dig at EHG will take place from Saturday 25th June until Sunday July 10th. The site will be open everyday except Mondays. July 10th will be the open day.
This year it is hoped to re-open the deep pit where last year there were many finds. As this will be a deep excavation AOC are looking for experienced volunteers who took part last year to help again.
It is planned to excavate the area that was the kitchen of EHG, where it appears there are cellars and some of the other out buildings.
Also there was a reading on the geophysical survey of a possible building having been on Dovecote meadow so there will be another exploration started there.
With regard to the talk promised for early May, regrettably this has not been arranged, I am hoping it will take place during the time of the dig, but I am not counting on it.
