Catherine Dann were among around some 30 Eastcote businesses together with representatives from the Eastcote Chamber of Commerce, at a presentation made by the London Borough of Hillingdon on the proposed
Eastcote Town Centre Improvement plans.
Helena Webster Community Engagement & Town Centre Improvements Manager focused on the primary objectives of the project which were "
Repair, Revive and Refresh" to the town centre, with improvements to street furniture
such as seating, Brick Planters, recycling bins and the refurbishment of Telephone Boxes. She also announced that the Christmas Lighting
and wiring was to be considered for refurbishment as the existing arrangements detract from the architectural features of the buildings throughout
Eastcote.Helena said that Directional Signage was another area in need of improvement and is being reviewed together with a look at Eastcote Station and its surrounding area.
The
Shop Front Grant Scheme working with "
Interrobang Design Team" was outlined and businesses were encouraged to make applications to the council. Examples of what could be achieved were displayed together with estimated costs.
