Manor Farm History Weekend
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, the history weekend took place at the Manor Farm Site. Manor Farm,has been at the heart of Ruislip for more than 1,000 years.
Manor Farm is the largest heritage site in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and was is open for privileged behind-the-scenes access , as part of Open House London.
People explored buildings not usually open to the public, and immersed themselves in living history spanning from the Norman to Tudor era. The programmed activities engaged visitors of all ages, young and old. There was a Norman settlement with archery and tournament demonstrations, children’s craft workshops, storytelling, special guided tours, the screening of historic footage of the area,
On Sunday it was possible to discover the beautiful 13th century wooden Great Barn animated by Medieval dance and workshops with live period music. Ruislip Lions were there with their "William Tell " crossbow range which delighted younger visitors.
